PUE reporting enhances Assessor's support for data centres addressing energy efficiency
London - Dimension 85's Assessor has been enhanced with graphical reporting functionality to help data centres track and monitor their PUE value over time. This new support is part of a feature upgrade to Assessor's reporting system that sees the addition of several graphical reports and the ability to create assessments directly to Microsoft Word, or similar, format. This release also sees enhancement to the online security further ensuring and maintaining customer's data protection and privacy.
This mid-year release of Assessor provides enhanced support for organisations needing to gain control and understanding of their PUE and complements the assessment functionality of previous releases.
"As an important tool for implementing an energy management system in the data centre, Assessor's enhanced functionality coincides with the increase in importance of the PUE metric. With government and industry bodies around the world signifying PUE as their preferred energy efficiency metric, Assessor's new features will further help organisations as they control and manage energy efficiency in their facilities." said Philip Vandenberg of Dimension 85.
Assessor is a unique web-based service developed to help data centre owners manage their strategic energy efficiency initiatives. Assessor is a key component of an energy management system (EnMS) for the data centre and complements the objectives of international standards such as EN 16001. It enables organisations to establish benchmarks and conduct assessments on data centre infrastructure and exploits the expertise and best practice recommendations of the European Union. Using a proven and repeatable consulting methodology, Assessor delivers a series of management and tactical-level reports aimed at addressing energy efficiency issues and increasing staff awareness of the subject.
It is a major concern for Governments worldwide that data centre energy consumption is set to double by 2020. As technology changes to address energy issues, the problem requires a long term strategic approach based on the traditional management practices of benchmarking and assessment. Assessor fulfils this requirement enabling Data Centre Managers to reduce energy costs and empower their own specialists to create high quality assessment reports for enhancing management decision making processes.
Assessor is suitable for any organisation, worldwide, that is concerned about its energy costs and consumption and wants to conduct a programme of benchmarking and assessment without relying on external consultants or IT vendor’s service organisations.
Dimension 85 Ltd is a best practice company specialising in IT and data centre energy issues and an approved Endorser of the EU Code of Conduct on Data Centres Energy Efficiency.
